Experience of Fest as a FootPrints Volunteer for 3 days

By Team FootPrints

Fests are engaging, challenging, and everything fun. Aren’t they?

One of the largest technical events in Gujarat was held at our college between March 4th and March 6th, 2022, at the Faculty of Technology and Engineering of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat.

In order to bring together students from colleges across the country in a healthy competition, FootPrints was started.

FootPrints is a three-day-long, national-level technical event which our college has been organizing for the last 21 years.

Tech fest is a pride of a college as it defines the popularity of it.

The event has a large participant base. Through this fest, we offer a wide spectrum of opportunities to students to give them a chance to exhibit their talent while igniting young minds under one roof with an exchange of ideas, views, and the spirit of competitiveness.

As a part of the organizing team, the most special moments lie within the days when the event actually occurs. It is an emotion for us and an expression of euphoria.

"FOOTPRINTS", the name itself, says a lot. The fest indirectly leaves a memory (print) inside everyone’s heart with its emotions that can’t be delivered in words.

Everything looks impossible until it is done.

As a volunteer, the most pretentious part was seeing the crowd gathered during those three days, which made all the work behind the scenes worthwhile.

DAY 0

The day felt endless; most of the execution parts were involved on that day. Duty allotment for day 1, we used to power nap during work to pay full attention during the night-time. Still the most memorable day.

Day 0 Preparation

JOURNEY OF 3 DAYS, BUT MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME.....

DAY 1

The first day at fest gives a special appearance in everybody’s eyes; the excitement of exploring, meeting young minds and having a blast with their teammates; the reaction of participants says it all. These gave me Goosebumps, really!!

It’s the student who makes a college event come to life. Many people came that day with the hope of learning and proving themselves. Some have their own level of confidence to win. We can see it in their eyes. Our interaction with the participants starts from the registration desk by handing them over the schedule of events, college map, opening ceremony, and a graceful western dance academy performance at the beginning.

The Fest included everything that a student could ever wish for; it had the technical part for exploring their theoretical knowledge in practical application, a fun part for mind refreshment, and jumped all over the day for creating memories.

Everything looks easy when you have the back of your team.

Let’s dive deep into technical events.

In computer engineering events, participants get a chance to enhance their coding skills. Also, debugging events were there. In the fields of mechanical and metallurgy engineering, IC engine car racing, X-bow competition, hydraulic gripping arm with lifting the object in the shortest time possible...

And how can one forget the RC car racing, robot wars, and autonomous robots of the electrical and electronics department?

Tremors truss to sustain load, paper presentation event, and civIQ for testing your knowledge all took place in the field of Civil Engineering.

Chemical engineering events include chemo hustle for car racing propelled by chemicals and paper presentations. Aesthetes, believe me, loved it.

If you think good design is expensive, you should look at the cost of a bad design.

Textile department events – broken floats which includes weaving fabrics using handloom denotes traditional values, tie and dye , block printing ..

Envirosavy events were also there, which included environmental and sustainability ideas to test their knowledge with innovative examples.

Open x—It’s an open segment, an open hardware and software project exhibition where projects with new perceptions were welcomed and the project ideas we saw that day just blew my mind. What a great addition to the student and innovation field.

There was no field barrier; even pharmacy department students attended the technical workshops. This proves that learning has no boundaries.

All these technical events fall under major segments known as Technotron..

Technical events look cool when they happen in one frame.

Jampad , a home for soulful artists , an open mic , which provides a platform to showcase your hidden talent that could be anything like stand up comedy, story telling , dance , it also helps to bring out stage fear.

Time flew and the participants, who were totally unaware of each other, got the chance to interact, most of the time as opponents. It’s our belief that the fest should be there for all the students across the country, so every student can explore their college days with a blast of memories.

The non-technical section is where the fun begins....

Treasure hunt, escape room, tug of war, event based on driving a go-karting vehicle.

Guest lectures with live interaction, workshops, and texhibition (exhibition of technical things) are part of the Kaleidoscope segment. The workshop provides newly derived concepts of money making (NFT), learning how e-bikes work, and cloud computing for data security (AWS).

Money is what you invest, price is what you pay, value is what you get, profit is what you make.    FootPrints Stock Exchange” for enhancing stockbroking skills.

Virtuosity for gaming zones like BGMI,F1 simulation.

Day-1 ends with informals such as BMX, bike stunts, beatboxing, and, of course, with lots of fun and dance.

DAY 2

The second day included mainly the second round of events. The ones who cleared the first round were there to participate, but all the participants were now familiar with each other. A strong connection was built to last for a long time. A crisp was built up between the participants as a hunger to win the competition.

The fest of the college provided students of all departments an opportunity to showcase their creativity and dedication to extracurricular pursuits and create a memorable day in their student life.

Volunteering at the events was as much fun as participating in them. The feeling of the gesture given by the students of different colleges was the best part.

Day 2 was much easier to execute because all the participants were already familiar with the college campus and the environment in which they could enjoy it. Refreshments were also available the whole time.

Extravagant decorations with an environmental theme made the college walls come alive, and most importantly, many fun-driven events added a flavour.

On day 2, guest lectures by Nikhil Taneja Sir and Pawan Aggarwal Sir were extremely inspiring.

Team FootPrints With Dr.Pawan Aggarwal

Classroom learning leaves an impression for a few days, but attending a technical festival makes learning much easier and lasts a long time in the memory.

The Pitchers' Project was a segment for start-up ideas, which was newly introduced in our edition. For day 2 enjoyment, we had bike stunts, live sketching, Aditi Yangar, and a band.

The lighting of our dome at night gave us the impression of being in heaven, and the ring of our event at the center of the college dome, which can be seen from afar, also makes the entire area around the college visible to it.

DAY 3

The successful execution of the first 2 days made everything easier in many ways.

As the event came to its last day, the feeling to work hard to make the event a grand success came to our mind, thanks to the entire team. The one who trained us to handle all the situations either on the field or off the field. The previous year event’s footage inspired us for the journey.

Back to Day 3,

The closing ceremony was a major part of it, followed by prize distribution. The warm feedback from the participants at the end of it to one of our team members, who was there at the propagation time at their college, gave a kind of special feeling.

The concert left the best ending in everyone’s hearts.

Concert Of Jasleen Royal

The rolling square segment definitely held the cherry on the top for our event.

The Jasleen royal concert. The day when the concert artist gave us confirmation, was the best day of the entire journey of the event. The artist admitted that the Ranjha song gave her goosebumps. There was an amazing feeling rushing through the crowd. Everyone present in that moment was experiencing the emotion of excitement and joy. Everyone was fascinated by the presence of such a popular celebrity on the stage.

The event was a blast !

The event ends by sharing of everyone’s personal experiences.

Talking about the journey after it’s success is so relieving . Can’t imagine a better college life than this.

I feel very lucky to work under an events which already has a huge legacy .
