What is FootPrints?

FootPrints is a three day National level technical event(one  of Gujarat's largest). This year we have entered into our 23rd consecutive year. FootPrints is segregated into various segments listed below:

• Technotron(Technical events)

• Quest (Non-Technical events)

• FSE (FootPrints Stock Exchange)

• FSR (FootPrints Social Responsibility)

• Kaleidoscope (Series of Guest lectures, Workshops and Techzibitions)

• Virtuosity (Gaming Zone)

•  Rolling Squares (Live Concert)

Why FootPrints?
In our event Technotron is the major department because FootPrints was started to increase the technical knowledge of participants by participating in various competitions, by this, not only they gain confidence in their knowledge but they get to meet people with different caliber too (their future competition). Our 3-day fiesta helps them to live their college life to the fullest and to make good bond with their friends even if they are not from same department or college!

So what is this Technotron?

Technotron consists many events with respect to different engineering departments. In Technotron there are various events for different engineering department. Each engineering department has it's own unique name like mechanical department comes under the banner of machaenema and lycra for textile department.

What's the name for EE/ECE department?

For Electrical and Electronics engineering the events come under the segment of Sanganikee. Sanganikee provides all electrical and electronics engineers an opportunity to showcase their technical skills with the utmost perfection. There are various type of events organized under Sanganikee.

Ready to know about the competitions?

DFA (Da Furious Auto):- In this event participants have to design an all-terrain RC vehicle which works on dual frequency and that vehicle has to complete the given track with certain obstacles in the least possible time.

D.F.A

This year we had designed 5 rounds in this event. In the first round participants had to show their driving skills and complete the track in least possible time. The top 16 vehicle which had completed track in least possible time were selected for the second round. In the second round two RC cars were raced against each other and the winner got qualified for quarter final round. In quarter final round there were 8 RC vehicles. Again, with the same criteria as in second round but with more obstacles we selected 4 RC vehicles in semi-final round and then we finally had 2 of the bestest cars for finals! The winner received very exciting prizes, certificates and many more.

We also had another competition held under DFA i.e. best design. Whosoever’s car had the best design will get an award and prize money for the best designed RC vehicle.

● Smackbotz:- In this event participants had to design a wired/wireless remote controlled(radio controlled) maneuverable machine proficient in destructing opponents machine in one on one combat.

Smackbotz

This year we made an arena where in bots fought in one on one combat. There were 8 robo participants in this event. Each fight was elimination fight. Whoever won got to fight for the next round and in the final round we got our winner who eliminated the last remaining robo from arena. It was a fabulous moment to watch that type of fight. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, truly a bliss to eyes to see the beauty of engineering!

Monochrome:- In this event participants had to design an autonomous robot which had the ability to solve a given line network.

This year we conducted 2 rounds for the competition. In first round we made a track of white lines with black background, the autonomous bot had to follow the lines and complete the track in least possible time. The top 5 vehicles were selected for the next round. In next round we made the track a bit more difficult. The autonomous vehicle which completed the track in least possible time was winner of this event.

Technokick:- This event provides a platform for participants to showcase their robotics talent by building a manually controlled robot capable of playing soccer on a specially designed arena.

This year in this event the first round was time based in which the robo had to achieve maximum goals in a goal post in least possible time while having obstacles on its way. The second round was elimination round, whoever goals the  most in given time against opponent qualified for the next round.

Insight:- In this event we had tested the knowledge of participants pertaining to Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department.

This year there was a quiz-based round in this event and whoever gave the most no. of correct answers was our winner.

● Renaissance:- In this event participants had to do a paper presentation related to Electrical/Electronics Engineering Department.

In this event participants can choose any topic related to Electrical/Electronics engineering department and had to present it in front of our judges! Judges will ask them a few questions related to their topic and whoever gives the best presentation and was confident  and knowledgeable was our winner.

If you are from electronic/electrical department which one did u liked the most :)
