With a vision to enhance the engineering and  technical skills and to make Gujarat and MSU Techo a centre for technical excellence, FootPrints was started. FootPrints is a three day national level technical event organized since last 22 years and over the years the event has seen an exponential growth in the participation year by year. It was started in the year 2001 by Prof Murthy as a paper presentation event to enhance and nourish the technical skills of students of the state of Gujarat . At the start of the event we had only 30 participants in the year 2001. Since 2001 we have never looked back, and we have nourished ourselves throughout these years as an organization. 

2002-2009 FootPrints witnessed evident growth and soon became the most awaited fiesta. The participation showed a striking increase, crossing 5000 mark in 2009. Furthermore, FootPrints expanded its horizons -pioneering technical events, seminars and workshops in its precincts. The year 2010 is considered as a decade year for us as in this year the participation soared up-to a height of 10K. The year 2012 is considered as the Upping year for us as this year we witnessed a staggering participation of 15000 breaking all the records. For year 2013, we unveiled the unexpected by setting a benchmark with the first ever event to launch its mobile network and android application. In our event, we have fun technical events and games with a bit of non-tech as well. We have events for almost all engineering departments which makes us unique in ourselves as an organization. We try to take most from our participants by giving them the practical exposure with fun and knowledge which makes all the events more interesting and fun to play. We not only make our participants learn and enjoy but we also believe in giving back to the society and so, looking to this, we have started a segment which is called as the FOOTPRINTS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY under which we help the backward and underprivileged students of our society. As an organization we always have always tried to get better over the years and so as a part of which we were also recognized by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) patronages and a letter of appreciation twice from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat. FootPrints since the begining believes in clean and green society which is also represented time and again as the theme of our event and so with the sincere efforts of our hardworking team we have achieved the World Record of making World’s Largest Paper Bag.

Participation Details

In the year 2021, the Pandemic year, we were all locked in our homes and so owing to the restrictions imposed by the government we were compelled to launch to launch FootPrints on the online fiesta but despite of the limitations of the pandemic and several other problems we were successful in achieving a participation of around 32000 making it one of the largest online technical event with such a good footfall even in the online mode. We, the Team of FootPrints is heartly grateful to our mentors, our participants , our partners , our sponsors for your constant support throughout these years. Without your help it was not possible to make FootPrints a grand success throughout these years and achieving such huge participation in every year to come. Hoping to see more healthy participation in the upcoming years as well.
