“DC” these two alphabets are so much more than just alphabets. These two alphabets hold emotions and endless memories of so many people. Before I pour my heart out with nostalgia let me tell you guys what actually DC is. Well for others it is a place given to us by the college, four months approx. for event purpose; “DC-Day Center”. But for us it’s an “Emotion”. It is rightly said,

“Its not the place that you remember, it’s the memories shared with that place, with right people stays forever.”

So our DC is in one of the corners of our college like an old store house, as one might say, yet right in the middle of our heart.

DC:-Day Center

As you enter in, you’ll see names scribbled on walls with paint everywhere, each name tells you story of their own. Two big rooms and a small backyard. Small is our DC yet, a home for lost souls. As mentioned above this DC is for our event purpose. From making of Deco’s to local and propo trainings, From departmental works to the Non-technical departments everything is done under this one roof. As days pass by, each day you come close to this corner and before you know it, this place becomes your second home. At beginning you spend just 2-3 hours in local trainings, sooner you start spending 4-6 hours in local and deco’s, later 8-10 for propo, deco’s and local and at the end your day starts and ends in this DC.

From patch-ups to break-ups, fights, friendships that  lasted forever, tears of joy to tears of sadness this DC has seen it all. Every college student has a special place where their whole college life depends and for us this was ‘THE ONE’. If you ask me, for me DC is not just a DAY CENTER it’s DAYS OF COLLEGE. True college days that we spend in this center. A place where we strive on completing our end moment assignments with our fellow mates. A place which becomes our cyber café where you can get all your college gossips. A place where you can bitch about your annoying professors. A place that becomes your bunk out spot. A place where we mess up and clean. The ONLY place that Makes and Keeps you detached from your phones. A place that becomes your day’s charging point. A place where you never feel alone and always surrounded by ‘YOUR PEOPLE’. Those four months of DC are a get-a-way from our boring college life. It’s a stress buster for us. Here we learn, change, develop, discover, create, adapt, fall and come out as the best version of ourselves.

By the end of our four months this DC becomes our second home where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends. Those late night outs and camp fires with music playing in shivering nights of December-January are the best memories one can ever have in their entire have. The magic thing about DC is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.

Every year coming back and waiting for those four months is a whole different feeling. Even if you leave college the one thing that never leaves you is this DC.

Last Day of DC is the most heartbreaking one for all of us because we know that the time we spent and memories that we cherished here are forever, ever and ever. Lastly, I would end this blog by a poem which was written by one of our Fpite member.

The ideal widespread college lifestyle is seldom the reality….

To realise this gospel truth, it takes a semester two or three.

The only constant during the four years is “procrastination”….

Which I regret later when I’ve to run around for submissions.

Scoring too well in exams was always a myth…

All one earns is a friend circle to make memories with.

Events turned the mundane routine into an action-packed one….

And after joining one, never were the journals overdone.

The journey of four months followed by those 3 days…

Cannot be described by this mere ink maze.

Though an ordinary 10-lettered word….

It takes a lifetime to step out of that world

And today this pen of mine decided to bleed….

To scream out- “this world is all I need.”

Those were the only days one enjoyed being busy….

One would certainly miss those tiresome days at DC

The place you know, the stories you don’t….

The place that holds you with an unbreakable bond.

A place where one finds people: sweet and fiery…

The place where the lucky ones find their human diary.

The place where one sheds tears after intense debates….

The place where one finds their soulmates.

I became a part of it with a vision to have fun….

Besides, a handful of great souls I earned.

Now, I have many who would bother to respond…

In real sense I’ve earned a Family BEYOND!!!!

Our Second Home

So what is DC to you; A place or a Home!?
